to the House of Bread
What is a "house of bread?" One possible translation
of the Hebrew is "bakery," the community oven where people brought
their ingredients to bake. All of us hope that the Diocese of Bethlehem
website and the BETHLEHEM of PA electronic
meeting can provide your own spiritual baking with ingredients
-- and perhaps some gentle heat -- through resources and conversation.
Members of the Diocese are in particular urged to investigate the
breadth of diocesan ministries available to the parishes and organizations
of the Diocese, and to take full advantage of them.
Jesus Christ is the living bread, come from heaven,
and, as we move from our second diocesan-wide "Share the Bread"
festival to the next stage of our work together, I hope that all
readers discover some crumbs here to encourage or empower Christian
witness in their lives.
