On Sunday, July 9 from 2-5 pm, Eucharistic Visitor training will take place at Grace, Allentown. According to the canons of the Episcopal Church, “a Eucharistic Visitor is a lay person authorized to take the Consecrated Elements in a timely manner following a celebration of Holy Eucharist to members of the congregation who, by reason of illness or infirmity, were unable to be present at the Celebration.” (Canon III.4.7)
This training is the necessary pre-requisite in order to be licensed as a Eucharistic Visitor by the bishop. The Rev. Twila Smith, priest at Grace and Mediator in Allentown, will lead the training. This program will include an exploration of the ministry of Eucharistic Visitors, theological reflection, role, context/settings, and practical details. There is no cost to attend; please RSVP via email.
