Join us to say thank you and farewell to Bishop Sean and his family. This event includes Eucharist at St. Stephen’s Pro-Cathedral, followed by a light hors d’oeuvres reception at the Genetti Hotel & Conference Center, Wilkes-Barre.

In lieu of gifts for Bishop Sean, we will be collecting donations for Grace Montessori School. 

If you would like to make a donation in Bishop Sean’s honor, it can be sent to the Diocesan Office.

DIRECTIONS:

FROM ALLENTOWN/BETHLEHEM VIA TURNPIKE
Upon exiting the Northeast Extension, turn left onto Route 115 and proceed down the mountain (approx. 5 miles). Route 115 will become Route 309 (Cross Valley Expressway). Use Exit 2 (Center City Exit) and turn left onto Wilkes-Barre Boulevard and travel approximately 1 Mile.

IF PARKING AT GENETTI’S BEST WESTERN PLUS
Proceed on Wilkes-Barre Boulevard (as above) to the fifth traffic light (East Market Street) and turn right and proceed one block to the next traffic light (Pennsylvania Avenue) You will now see Genetti’s  parking lot on your left. Turn left on Pennsylvania Avenue and you will see the entrance to the parking lot on your left.

IF PROCEEDING DIRECTLY TO ST. STEPHEN’S PRO CATHEDRAL
Proceed as above if parking at Genetti’s EXCEPT you will continue on East Market Street (passing the Genetti complex) to the second  traffic light (Washington Street). Turn left on Washington Street and proceed one block to the traffic light (East Northampton Street).  Turn right onto East Northampton Street and proceed to the second traffic light (South Franklin Street). Turn right onto South Franklin Street and proceed about two thirds up the block and the Pro Cathedral is on the left. PARKING IS AVAILABLE IN THE FENCED IN LOT NEXT TO THE CHURCH AS WELL AS THE PARKING GARAGE ACROSS THE STREET.

FROM THE SOUTH VIA I-81
Exit via Highland Park Boulevard Exit (#168) turning left onto Highland Park Boulevard at traffic light and proceed to the second traffic light. Continue forward (now on Coal Street) to the second traffic light (Wilkes-Barre Boulevard) turning left onto the Boulevard.  Proceed to the next traffic light (Market Street) and follow appropriate directions as above if parking at Genetti’s or proceeding directly to St. Stephen’s.

FROM THE NORTH VIA I-81
Exit via Highland Park Boulevard Exit (#168) turning left onto Highland Park Boulevard at traffic light and proceed to the second traffic light. Continue forward (now on Coal Street to the second traffic light (Wilkes-Barre Boulevard) turning left onto the Boulevard.  Proceed to the next traffic light (Market Street) and follow appropriate directions as above if parking at Genetti’s or proceeding directly to St. Stephen’s.

FROM THE NORTH VIA ROUTE 309 ( From Tunkhannock area)
Proceed on Route 309 through the Back Mountain which will lead into the Cross Valley Expressway. Use Exit 2 (Center City Exit) turning right onto Wilkes-Barre Boulevard and proceed to the fifth traffic light (Market Street) and turn right following appropriate directions for parking at Genetti’s or proceeding directly to St. Stephen’s.

WALKING FROM GENETTI’S TO ST. STEPHENS
For those who are able, the walk is a pleasant one (equivalent approximately four blocks) and the cherry blossoms are still in bloom!. From the parking lot you will pass the Genetti complex  continuing over East Market Street toward the Square. You can choose to walk through the center of the Square, or walk around it heading in a westerly direction toward the Susquehanna River. One block after the Square is South Franklin Street. Turn left at the former Citizens Bank and proceed a short distance to St. Stephen’s
