The Steering Committee helps parishes and lay
leaders start and sustain planned giving programs by encouraging each
parish to form a chapter of the St.
Matthew Society of the Diocese of Bethlehem, an honorary society
begun in 2001 to acknowledge and thank those who choose to support
the life and work of their parishes or a ministry of the diocesan
community through bequests and other planned gifts.
Members of the Steering Committee work with
individual parishes to establish safe and secure endowment fund plans
and to develop ways to inform, motivate and thank their fellow parishioners
for planning gifts.
Generous parishioners who enroll in the St.
Matthew Society offer witness to the fact that all that we are and
have comes from God.
