The Commission on Liturgy and Music was formed to
assist the Bishop in his ministry as chief liturgical officer of the
Diocese.
The commission designs diocesan worship events, and
provides a ministry of assistance and advice for parishes, clergy
and musicians in planning worship. One of the tools that assists in
this support is the publication of Jubilate, a music and liturgy
newsletter which is sent to over 300 persons in the diocese and throughout
the Episcopal Church.
The Commission seeks to support those who plan and
lead worship in parishes by providing education and resources as needed
and requested. Now also focusing on the needs of small parishes, the
commission continues to offer formal training to prepare local musicians
as leaders in parish music.
