Mission Statement:
The Mission of the Committee is three-fold
- to support congregations financially
- to support congregations in long-range planning
and visioning
- to foster the development of new congregations
The goals of the committee are:
To involve all congregations in long-range planning
for their life and ministry. This may include considering alternative
ways of doing ministry.
The Committee is committed to providing competent
consultants to work with congregations in discerning their vision
and utilizing diocesan resources to enhance their ministries.
- To provide where possible and appropriate, financial
support to parishes that need short term help to meet their goals.
- To determine where new ministries/congregations
are needed and assist in efficiently and effectively fostering these
ministries.
Description:
While providing for financial support for both old
and new congregations, the committee focuses on encouraging planning
as well as on exploring new models for ministry.
Activities: VISTA program
- to provide a detailed overview of the diocese,
demographics, population, income, age, education, ethnicity, religion,
- occupations - these enable the diocese to make
decisions about what kinds of assistance and support are needed
and where we might consider new congregations.
- Consultations with congregations.
