Communication Ministry

Vision Statement:

  • Communication in ways that capture attention and build community
  • Communicate Mystery in history: what keeps us faithful to God's dream throughout continuing historical change.
  • Employ and adapt emerging technologies for specific diocesan needs
  • Enable every person in every parish to be in the flow.

Description:
The ministry's function is one of facilitating the communication needs of the various diocesan ministries through diverse means and media. The Communication ministry in Bethlehem does not see itself as a separate area or program, but as an integral part of all ministry in the diocese.

Activities:
The diocesan newspaper, Diocesan Life,  is mailed to every church member in the diocese. The Ecunet meeting "Bethlehem News" was created in June, 1999, as the primary instrument for information to be shared in the diocese. It has now transitioned to "Bakery" on ChurchReply. In addition, you can also join the new communicators list by sending Kat an email here. Bill also has created newSpin, and electronic eNewsletter for events, news, articles, and yes...a bit of spin. Learn how to join either of these electronic lists

Diocesan Communication Minister Bill Lewellis works constantly to enrich communications in the diocese through all available media .. print, video, television, cable, satellite conferencing, internet, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, intranet, and through face to face meetings and seminars. He has created a wealth of information available to parishes, including an article found here, "Getting Into the Local Daily," and another which suggests links to sites for using film in your spiritual journey.

The Communication Ministry strives to enable the diocese to live its mission statement: "Live God's love. Tell what you have seen and heard."
